BUILT AROUND PEOPLE, NOT JUST TECHNIQUE
Artistic Jiu-Jitsu School was founded in Chicago by Pedro Dias and Laura Carvalho with a simple belief: Jiu-Jitsu should be a place where students feel supported, families feel welcome and every person has a clear path to grow.
Our goal is not only to teach effective Jiu-Jitsu. We want children to develop confidence and character, adults to discover a stronger version of themselves and families to create memories that last far beyond the mats.

PEDRO & LAURA
PEDRO DIAS
Co-founder
Pedro is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Douglas Rufino and an accomplished competitor on the IBJJF international circuit. His teaching combines high-level technical knowledge with clear, structured instruction for students of every age and experience level.

LAURA CARVALHO
Co-founder
Laura is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and co-founder of Artistic Jiu-Jitsu School. Her journey is defined by dedication, competitive experience and a deep respect for the art.
She plays an essential role in shaping the academy’s family culture and creating meaningful opportunities for women and children to build confidence, discipline and personal strength through Jiu-Jitsu.
